FRANKLIN SQUARE, NY - A masked man robbed a Franklin Square gas station at knifepoint early Friday morning and then fled on a bicycle, according to Nassau Police.

The man, armed with kitchen knife, entered the Sunoco station at 355 Franklin Avenue at about 4:15 a.m., police said.

He demanded cash from the attendant, who complied and gave the robber an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

The robber also took cigarettes before fleeing on foot toward Polk Avenue. He then hopped on a bike and was last seen heading eastbound on Polk Avenue.

The robber was described as 6-feet tall. He was wearing a mask covering his face, a brown jacket, dark pants and gloves.

Police said the robbery is not connected to a robbery spree in which a man has robbed at least 10 businesses in Nassau since March.
