Nassau Jewelry Store Robbed In Mid-Day Smash-And-Grab

Nassau County police are searching for two men who robbed a jewelry store in the Green Acres Mall in broad daylight Thursday afternoon.
According to police, two men, armed with a small sledge hammer, entered the Zales Jewelers inside the Green Acres Mall in Valley Stream. The two men went to a display case and smashed the top open with the hammer, then stole an undetermined amount of jewelry from inside. The two fled to the southbound parking lot where a two-door convertable, being driven by another, unknown man, was waiting for them.
There were four employees and one customer in the store at the time of the robbery. No one was injured.

Both robbers are described as black men, 5 feet, 9 inches to 6 feet, 1 inch tall, wearing hooded sweatshirts, face masks, dark boots and gloves.
Detectives request anyone with information regarding this crime to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
