Nassau Police: 30 Unlocked Cars Burglarized in 2 Weeks

In final report of 2014, 30 cars, including several in Five Towns, were targeted by thieves, according to police.

Nassau County Police reported the following incidents during the last two weeks of 2014.

Dec. 21: Munson Avenue, West Hempstead; money stolen.
Dec. 22: Debbie’s Creative Childcare, Plainview; items stolen from two cars, one of them unlocked.
Dec. 22: Sunrise Highway, Merrick; iPhone stolen.
Dec. 22: Pathmark, Greenvale; computer stolen.
Dec. 23: Mark Lane, Westbury; handicap parking permit stolen.
Dec. 23: Cromwell Place, Sea Cliff; items stolen from two cars, one of which was unlocked.
Dec. 23: Crocus Avenue, North Merrick; laptop stolen.
Dec. 24: North Richmond Avenue, North Massapequa; man tried to take items from unlocked car and fled when victim approached him.
Dec. 24: James Lane, Levittown; money stolen.
Dec. 24: Old Navy, Levittown; pocketbook stolen.
Dec. 25: Wanser Avenue, Inwood; iPhone stolen.
Dec. 26: Wyckoff Place, Woodmere; tablet and money stolen from two cars.
Dec. 26: Summit Avenue, Cedarhurst; money stolen.
Dec. 26: Joyce Avenue, Massapequa; two remote controlled cars stolen.
Dec. 28: Finch Lane, Levittown; money stolen.
Dec. 28: Henry Street, Inwood; clothing and USB cord stolen.
Dec. 28: Fairfield Avenue, Westbury; sunglasses and money stolen.
Dec. 28: Gordon Road, Valley Stream; laptop stolen.
Dec. 28: Friends Lane, Westbury; gift cards stolen.
Dec. 28: Thompson Avenue, Oceanside; sunglasses stolen.
Dec. 28: Friends Lane, Westbury; GPS stolen.
Dec. 29: Herbert Drive, New Hyde Park; handicap permit, money, car registration stolen.
