Police: Woman Struck in Five Towns Still in Serious Condition
Pedestrian was struck on Peninsula Boulevard Thursday evening, cops said.

A woman is in serious condition after she was struck on Peninsula Boulevard in the Five Towns Thursday, according to Nassau County Police.
At 6:43 p.m., the 49-year-old victim was walking across Peninsula Boulevard near Oxford Road in Cedarhurst. Before reaching the other side of the street, the woman was struck by a westbound Toyota Matrix, driven by a 63-year-old man, cops said.

The woman, who has not been identified by police, suffered traumatic head injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital, police said. As of Friday afternoon, she was still listed in serious condition, cops said.

No criminality is suspected in the accident. The Toyota was impounded for brake and safety checks, cops said.
