Statue Defaced at Nassau County Church
BREAKING: Police are searching for teens who wrapped a statue of the Virgin Mary in tape.

Police are searching for three teens who wrapped a statue of the Virgin Mary in tape in Hewlett on Saturday.
According to detectives, Fourth Precinct Police responded to St. Joseph’s Church, located at 1346 Broadway, for a statue that had been wrapped in green, red, and black tape. Police saw statue of the Virgin Mary wrapped up in the rear of the church.
An investigation revealed that three unidentified male juveniles, two wearing yarmulke (no other description), were observed carrying rolls of tape and then fled through the parking lot north toward Noel Avenue. The investigation is ongoing.
