Teen Attempted to Buy $500 Worth of Clothes With Counterfeit Money: Cops
The 17-year-old was found with an additional $500 of fake money upon his arrest, police say.

WOODMERE, NY - A Far Rockaway teen was arrested after he tried to buy over $500 worth of clothes with counterfeit money in Woodmere on Thursday afternoon, according to Nassau Police.
Jermaine Zied, 17, met with a 16-year-old at 929 Broadway to purchase clothing at about 12:40 p.m., police said.
Zied paid the teen in counterfeit bills, including five hundred dollar bills, a twenty dollar bill and a ten dollar bill, police said.

The teen left scene and then noticed two of the bills had the same serial number.
The teen returned to confront Zied and chased him to Church Avenue and Carlyle Avenue, police said.

Officers responded to the location for a disturbance and placed Zied into custody, police said.
He had five additional counterfeit hundred dollar bills in his possession, according to police.
Zied is charged with 10 counts of criminal possession of a forged Instrument and will be arraigned on Friday, police said.
