Trio Arrested For Burglarizing Valley Stream Liquor Store: Police

The burglary occurred early Monday morning.

VALLEY STREAM, NY - Three Valley Stream men were arrested for burglarizing a liquor store in Valley Stream early Monday morning, according to Nassau Police.

Officers on routine patrol saw 23-year-old Robert Rivas, and 19-year-old Omar Shaukat, exit North Central Liquors on 399 N. Central Avenue through a broken glass front door at about 4:43 a.m., police said.

The two were carrying a crate with assorted liquor bottles, an assortment of tools including a screwdriver, metal pole, sledge hammer handle and hammers, according to police.

Officers continued to observe the duo as they entered a 2014 Mazda MZ5 with 22-year-old Kevin Posadas seated in the driver’s seat and drove away, according to police.

The officers conducted a vehicle and traffic law stop where a clear bag containing a leafy green substance, believed to marijuana, was seen lying on the rear passenger seat, police said.

All three men were placed into custody without incident, police said. They are each charged with third degree burglary and possession of burglary tools.

They may face additional charges, police said.
