Flushing MS-13 Members Arrested On Gun, Drug Charges: Police
The Flushing residents were arrested after police pulled them over for a traffic stop in Hempstead, Long Island.

HEMPSTEAD, NY — Two MS-13 gang members from Queens were arrested on Long Island Saturday night on drug and weapon charges, according to Nassau County police.
The Flushing residents were pulled over for a traffic stop when Gang Investigation Squad detectives saw Victor Leon, 21, driving a grey 2015 Honda Accord with a broken headlight, police said. As the detectives approached the car, police said the detectives saw the passenger, Eric Monge, 23, place a handgun under his legs to hide it. The detectives also found 13 baggies containing what they believe to be marijuana, according to police.
Monge, who lives on Parsons Boulevard in Flushing, was charged with criminal possession of a firearm and disorderly conduct from an arrest warrant. Leon, who lives on Sanford Avenue in Flushing, was charged with two counts of criminal possession of marijuana.

Police say the detectives also recovered 13 baggies containing what they believe to be marijuana.
The Gang Investigation Squad and Homeland Security Investigations are still investigating, because both men are MS-13 members, police said. It is unclear how authorities identified the men as gang members.
