Driver With 24 License Suspensions Arrested: Garden City Police

Two packages, each containing ten Apple cell phones, were reported stolen from the Fed-Ex facility on Clinton Road on Feb. 13. The total loss is approximately $18,000.
An officer stopped a vehicle for driving 55 MPH on Clinton Road on Feb. 14. Upon investigation, the driver, a 37-year-old man from Amityville, was arrested for aggravated unlicensed operation (13 license suspensions), excessive speed and uninsured operation.
An officer stopped a truck on Old Country Road for a traffic investigation on Feb. 14. The truck was impounded and the driver, a 57-year-old man from Wantagh, was charged with driving with switched license plates, unregistered vehicle, uninsured operation and multiple equipment violations.

As a result of an investigation on Cherry Valley Avenue on Feb. 15, officers arrested a 33-year-old man from Franklin Square for criminal possession of a controlled substance (concentrated cannabis), criminal possession of marijuana and an open Nassau County warrant for criminal possession of marijuana.
As a result of a traffic stop investigation on Clinton Road on Feb. 15, officers charged a 23-year-old man from Queens for aggravated unlicensed operation (two license suspensions).

An officer stopped a vehicle on Franklin Avenue for driving 50 MPH on Feb. 16. Upon investigation, the driver, a 31-year-old man from Huntington Station, was arrested for driving while impaired by alcohol, unlicensed operation and excessive speed.
Credit cards and gift cards were reported stolen from a vehicle parked at a Wetherill Road home on Feb. 16.
Upon investigation of a vehicle leaving the scene after crashing into a parked vehicle in Parking Field 7S on Feb. 16, officers arrested a 36-year-old man from Uniondale for aggravated DWI (more than .18 BAC) and leaving the scene of an accident.
An officer stopped a truck on Osborne Road for defective lights on Feb. 17. Upon investigation, the driver, a 37-year-old man from Bay Shore, was arrested for felony aggravated unlicensed operation (24 license suspensions), failure to utilize an interlock device as a condition of a prior DWI arrest and multiple equipment violations.
Officers investigated reports of vehicle entries in the driveways of two Huntington Road residences and a Wyatt Road residence on Feb. 18. There is no reported loss at this time.
Officers investigated a report of five unauthorized withdrawals from a Franklin Avenue bank totaling $850 on Feb. 18.
A mountain bike was reported stolen from a 3rd Street garage on Feb. 19.
Upon investigation of the theft of a credit card on Feb. 19, as well as other items from a vehicle parked at a Clinch Avenue residence, Garden City detectives arrested a 27-year-old man from Hempstead for identity theft and criminal possession of a credit card. The man used the stolen credit card to make an unauthorized purchase at a local store.
