Garden City Plans To Install Cameras At Parking Field, Water Sites
The increased security was proposed by the police department, and is included in the 2017-18 budget.

The Village of Garden City is working on a project to install cameras at select locations in the village.
The plan is to install cameras at Parking Field 7S and at village water sites. The plan was developed by the police department, and would be an extension of a project already completed in Village Hall.
The cameras at Parking Field 7S wil connect with village hall over Wi-Fi. The village looked at other options, but they were too expensive.

The vendor reviewed Parking Field 7S and the Water Works sites with Inspector Doyle and village officials to determine the parts, accessories and service required to complete the project. Pricing is based on state contract pricing. Due to recent improvements and upgrades in video camera equipment, the village is awaiting an amended agreement between the New York State Office of General Services and the vendor on pricing modifications.
The village hopes to begin installation next month, pending the completion of the licensing agreement and modification of the state pricing contract.
