Man With Gun Robs Nassau County Bank

The robbery occurred Saturday morning, police say.

GARDEN CITY PARK, NY - A man armed with a gun robbed a Garden City Park bank on Saturday morning.

According to police, the man entered Wells Fargo located at 2499 Jericho Turnpike shortly after 9 p.m. armed with a silver automatic handgun with a black grip.

He approached a female teller, placed a black drawstring bag on the counter and demanded the money. The man fled on foot northbound on Herricks Road toward Bellwood Drive with an undetermined amount of cash, police said.

Other recent bank robberies on Long Island:

There were six employees and two customers in the bank at the time of the robbery. No injuries were reported.

The robber was described as black, in his 20s, and wearing a dark gray nylon jacket with a hood, a ski mask covering the lower half of his face, light pants, dark sneakers and black gloves.

Detectives are asking anyone with information regarding the robbery to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
