MTA: Man Struck, Killed by Train in Garden City
Incident happened Monday afternoon, officials said.

A man was struck by a train at a busy crossing in Garden City Monday, Metropolitan Transit Authority officials confirmed.
LIRR officials said the victim, whose identity has not been released, was struck by the 12:05 p.m. train from Atlantic Terminal to Hempstead at the Cathedral Avenue crossing. Emergency crews pronounced him dead at the scene.
Approximately 30 passengers were on board the train at the time of the collision, officials said. They will be bused to their destination.

Service was suspended in both directions on the Hempstead LIRR branch between Hempstead and Jamaica, according to the MTA. Several trains between Hempstead and Atlantic Terminal were also reportedly delayed.
Officials did not confirm when the scene would be cleared.
