Outgoing Mayor, Trustees Return to the Board

Village Justice Allen S. Mathers administered the oaths of office to Trustees Brian Daughney, Mark Hyer, Stephen Makrinos and Louis Minuto during the annual organizational meeting held Monday, April 8, at Village Hall.

Trustee Daughney, who most recently served a two-year term as Mayor, began representing the Estates section on the Board in 2010. He will serve as chairman of the Traffic Commission, LIRR Third Track Committee and the Legal Committee.

Trustee Hyer, who replaced former Mayor Nicholas Episcopia in 2017, is beginning his second two-year term. He will serve as liaison to the Department of Public Works and a member of the Board of Police Commissioners. Trustee Hyer was also appointed to serve as a member of the Traffic Commission and the Committee to Fill Vacancies on Boards and Commissions.

Trustee Makrinos begins his third two-year term representing the West. He will serve as chairman of the Environmental Advisory Board and the Public Information Committee. He was also appointed a member of the LIRR Third Track Committee.

Trustee Minuto replaced outgoing deputy mayor Richard Silver, who did not seek re-election, back in 2017. Appointed chairman of the Zoning Change Review Committee, Trustee Minuto will also serve as a member of the Traffic Commission.
