Late Tuesday, Republican Donald Clavin claimed victory, but incumbent Laura Gillen didn't concede.
The race for Hempstead Town Supervisor is a close one.
In the race, Democratic incumbent Laura Gillen is facing a challenge from Republican Donald Clavin, who is currently the town's Receiver of Taxes.
Gillen's win two years ago was a major upset in Hempstead Town politics. She was the first Democrat to win the seat in 100 years.
