Nor'easter: Flood Watch, Coastal Flood Advisory, High Wind Watch Issued
Long Island could get drenched with 3 inches of rain.

An approaching December nor’easter shows no signs of sparing Long Island from heavy rain and potentially damaging winds.
The National Weather Service has issued several alerts for the island:
- Flood watch- in effect from 6 a.m. Tuesday until 1 a.m. Wednesday
- Coastal flood advisory- in effect from 10 a.m. Tuesday until 3 p.m. Tuesday
- High wind watch- in effect from 6 a.m. Tuesday until 6 p.m. Tuesday
Wind gusts will be strongest from late-morning until mid-afternoon Tuesday, the NWS said. These wind gusts of up to 60 mph may cause scattered power outages and minor property damage.

The latest forecast:
- Late Afternoon- Periods of snow before 5pm, then periods of snow, possibly mixed with rain and freezing rain. High near 37. Wind chill values between 25 and 30. East wind around 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Little or no ice accumulation expected. Little or no snow accumulation expected.
- Tonight- A chance of rain or freezing rain before 1am, then rain. Low around 35. Wind chill values between 25 and 30. Northeast wind 11 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Little or no ice accumulation expected.
- Tuesday- Rain. The rain could be heavy at times. High near 45. Wind chill values between 25 and 35 early. Windy, with a northeast wind 23 to 31 mph, with gusts as high as 47 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.
- Tuesday Night- Rain, mainly before 1am. Low around 37. Breezy, with a north wind 13 to 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
- Wednesday- Rain likely, mainly before 1pm. Cloudy, with a high near 43. West wind 8 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
- Wednesday Night- Scattered rain showers before 1am, then scattered rain and snow showers between 1am and 4am, then scattered snow showers after 4am. Cloudy, with a low around 34. Chance of precipitation is 50%. Little or no snow accumulation expected
