Pedestrian Killed By Wrong-Way Driver In Harlem Crash, Police Say
A 65-year-old man was killed Sunday after being struck by a car heading the wrong way on Frederick Douglass Boulevard.

HARLEM, NY — A driver is facing charges after killing a pedestrian Sunday in a destructive multi-car crash in Harlem, police said.
Cleo Fields, 65, was killed Sunday after being hit by a wrong-way driver in the intersection of Frederick Douglass Boulevard and West 128 Street just moments after the driver smashed into another car, police said. EMS arrived at the crash scene around 1 p.m. and found Fields on the hood of a parked car suffering from head and body trauma and pronounced him dead at the scene, police said.
The driver of a 2017 Hyundai Sonata was driving the wrong way down Frederick Douglass Boulevard and ran a red light before crashing into a 2009 Infiniti making a left turn from West 128 Street onto the boulevard, police said. Following the initial crash, the Hyundai struck Fields and launched the man into a parked car. The Hyundai came to a stop after crashing into a parked car, police said.

Alpha Diallo, a 71-year-old Bronx resident, was arrested and charged with manslaughter, reckless endangerment and reckless driving, police said.
