At once a fiendishly devious mystery, a beguiling love story, and a brilliant symposium on the power of art, My Name Is Red is a transporting tale set amid the splendor and religious intrigue of sixteenth-century Istanbul. Part fantasy and part philosophical puzzle, this story is a kaleidoscopic journey to the intersection of art, religion, love, sex and power.

The Heckscher Museum Book Group, led by Museum volunteer Jeri Weitman, is a superb opportunity to explore the blending of art history and literary text in both contemporary and historical works, with an emphasis on the influences of visual art in each literary setting. Program is held at Cold Spring Harbor Public Library, 95 Harbor Road, Cold Spring Harbor 11724.

Seating is limited. Registration is required. View flyer here.
