Huntington Community First Aid Squad Volunteer Honored

Thomas O'Leary recently received a proclamation as EMS Worker of the Year.

Huntington Community First Aid Squad volunteer Thomas O’Leary was recently honored as the 17th Legislative District’s 2014 Volunteer Firefighter/EMS Worker of the Year.

In recognition of his service and unmatched commitment to the community, Leg. Lou D’Amaro (D-Huntington Station) recently presented O’Leary with a proclamation.

A Huntington Station resident, O’Leary joined the HCFAS in 2007 and quickly rose through the ranks to become a vital member of the Squad. He became a certified EMT in 2008. He covers three 4-hour shifts per week and is always available when called upon for back-up calls. O’Leary also serves on the board of directors, assisting in the daily operations of the squad. In addition, he has been instrumental in the critical function of recruiting and retaining members.

“Mr. O’Leary constantly strives to serve the community and is a true credit to the EMS profession,” said Legislator D’Amaro. “On behalf of my entire legislative district, I thank him for giving so selflessly in the service of others.”
