  1. Fort Salonga home burglarized on Sunday; watch stolen. The home on Dolores Lane was broken into around 7:15 p.m., when the thief entered through a window and proceeded to steal a watch. (Patch)
  2. A 23-year-old man was shot to death at Huntington Station home Tuesday morning. Byron Martinez was shot at his Fifth Avenue home after opening the door when someone knocked around 1:15 a.m. The suspect has not been caught and police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-221-TIPS.   5. Town Supervisor Ed Smyth wants more residents to utilize HART bus. The town received a $2,451 FDA grant for the bus system, and not many residents use the service. "We want to get more cheeks in the seats," Huntington Supervisor Edmund Smyth said. "There is no need to wait at a bus station — you can hail or depart a HART bus anywhere along its route. Huntington is the only Town in Suffolk County with our own bus system. I recently took a ride on a HART bus and I encourage everyone to try this inexpensive and sustainable mode of transportation, which helps reduce the number of vehicles on our roads."(Huntington Patch)
