- Nightly detours starting on LIE in Town of Huntington Monday. Eastbound traffic between exit 51 and exit 53 will be redirected to the South Service Rd. from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for about a month, while the roadway is repaved. (Huntington Patch)
- Greenlawn man arrested with stolen, loaded handgun. Tashawn Cunningham was arrested Thursday after police tried to stop him, and he fled. "He was found in possession of a loaded 9mm semi-automatic handgun, which had been stolen from a location in Providence R.I. Mr. Cunningham was charged with 2 counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th Degree, Reckless Driving, and Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle 3rd Degree." - Greenlawn man loses wallet, man finds it and uses his credit cards. The man lost his wallet on April 26, and the man who found it made purchases at multiple smoke shops in Huntington on the same day. Police are looking for the suspect and asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-221-TIPS. (Huntington Patch)
