Huntington Station Bank Robbed

The robbery occurred Tuesday morning. Another Suffolk County bank was robbed less than a half hour later.

Suffolk Police are investigating two bank robberies that occurred less than a half hour apart on the morning of Tuesday, Dec. 29.

In the first robbery, a man entered Roslyn Savings Bank, located at 363 East Jericho Turnpike in Huntington Station, at approximately 11:30 a.m., and handed a teller a note demanding cash. The teller complied with the man’s demands and gave him cash from the drawer. The man fled the bank on foot in an unknown direction.

The man was described as white, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall, between 25 and 35 years old, unshaven, with a medium build. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, sunglasses and a black baseball hat.

The second robbery occurred around 11:50 a.m. at the Capital One Bank located at 8 Little East Neck Road in Babylon.

Police say a man armed with a gun demanded cash. The teller complied and the man fled on foot west through the parking lot.

The robber, who was wearing a mask, was described as black, 5-foot-10 to 6-feet tall with a medium build. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and a dark baseball cap.

Police say the robberies are not related.

Detectives are asking anyone with information on the robberies to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
