Masked Gunman Robs Long Island Store, Ties Up Employees and Customers
The robbery, similar in nature to at least seven others on Long Island over the past few months, occurred Sunday night, police say.

Detectives are investigating a robbery where an armed man entered a Huntington Station store, forced the employees and customers into the rear of the store and made an employee open a safe Sunday night, police said.
It’s latest in a string of similar robberies across Long Island over the past few months.
According to authorities, a masked man carrying a handgun entered Pier 1 Imports, located at 7 East Jericho Turnpike, and restrained the two customers and two employees in the back of the home furnishings store while he removed cash from the register drawers and demanded an employee open the safe at 7 p.m. No injuries were reported.
Police described the robber as black, between 5-foot-10 and 6-feet tall, with a thin to medium build and wearing a mask and a hooded sweatshirt.
At least seven similar robberies have occurred in Nassau and Suffolk since August. All of the other robberies have occurred at women’s clothing stories. No arrests have been made.
