Snow, Sleet, Freezing Rain Threaten Monday Morning Commute
National Weather Service issues a hazardous weather outlook.

A mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain is heading for Kings Park and the rest of the island overnight Sunday into the Monday morning commute.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory–in effect from 3 a.m. to 10 a.m. Monday–for Long Island and New York City.
“The heaviest of the wintry precipitation will fall during the Monday morning commute,” the NWS said in the advisory, warning of hazardous travel conditions due to icy roadways.

The wintry mix is expected to turn into all rain by late Monday morning as warmer air spreads into the region. The high temperature on Monday may hit 40, the NWS said.
The rest of the work week looks dry at the moment, with mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid-30s.
