Update: Levittown Teen Arrested in Bleacher Graffiti Incident

Anthony Larosa charged with making a threat against MacArthur High School in mid-October.

A 17-year-old male was arrested early Thursday morning and charged with leaving threatening graffiti messages on the bleachers at Sand Hill Park.

According to detectives, the assistant principal of MacArthur High School was notified on Oct. 13 about graffiti on the bleachers at the Town of Hempstead park. The writing stated "I am going to shoot up MacArthur on Friday 10/15/10" and "This is not a joke."

Eighth Squad detectives arrested Anthony Larosa of Levittown at 12:20 a.m. Thursday and the teen was charged with Making a Terroristic Threat, Criminal Mischief 3rd and Making Graffiti. He will be arraigned on Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead.

UPDATE: Larosa was held on bail of $10,000 bond or $5,000 cash, said Chris Munzing, deputy communications director for the Nassau County District Attorney's office. Munzing was not able to say whether or not Larosa has made bail at this time.

The case was adjourned for Nov. 22, when it will be held in the Nassau County Court House's west wing, said Munzing. The judge has not yet been decided, he added.

Larosa, who Munzing said is a Levittown resident, is represented by Levittown-based lawyer Timothy Aldridge.

"The district would like to express our appreciation for the work that the police department did in resolving the situation," said Levittown School District Assistant Superintendent for Administration and Personnel Darlene Rhatigan. "We feel fortunate that nothing came of the incident and as always, the district fully cooperated with the police department."

Rhatigan did divulge any other details, stating,"information regarding our students is confidential."
