Hector Martignon to Perform at Long Island Music & Entertainment Hall of Fame on Sept 20th

The Long Island Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame presents Sinfonía, Sabor & Cine - A Celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month in Sound & Cinema featuring pianist, composer, orchestrator and conductor Hector Martignon. The event will feature a 2pm Percussion Workshop followed by a 3pm Concert.
The event will take place at LIMEHOF in Stony Brook Village (97 Main Street, Stony Brook, NY) on September 20th from 2-4pm. The event is free for members or with general admission ticket purchase or $10 at the door concert ticket purchase. 2pm Percussion Workshop, 3pm Concert

About Hector Martignon
Be it as a highly requested pianist, composer, orchestrator and conductor, New York based-, Colombian born Hector Martignon is featured on over a hundred albums in a wide spectrum of genres, from Classical and Crossover, to Jazz and World Music, to Rock and Pop, four Broadway Musicals (including Paul Simon’s Capeman) and multiple theater and film scores, including Ang Lee's OSCARnominated movie Eat, Drink, Man, Woman. Two of his solo CDs (Refugee, 2008, and Second Chance, 2010) were nominated for a GRAMMY Award.
He has toured the world with such greats as Ray Barretto (for whom Hector wrote over half of the compositions and arrangements), Paquito D'Rivera, Gato Barbieri, Steve Turre, Don Byron, Tito Puente and was featured pianist with Max Roach's famed Project America at the 92 St Y.
He is a requested guest-lecturer and performance professor in music faculties and academies in several countries of Europe, East Asia and North- and South America and wrote an instructional book on Latin piano commissioned and published by Hal Leonard.
