Guardians of the Panels: Golden/Silver Age Comic Book Preservation & History at GN Library

Event Details
Discover the history and preservation of vintage comic books with Mike Scharf and Tony Cammarata from Spineworks Comics NYC. This session explores the explosive creativity of the Golden Age (1938–1950s) and the imaginative revival of the Silver Age (1956–1970), detailing the key artists, publishers, and cultural shifts that defined these eras. Participants will also learn expert techniques for preserving these fragile treasures, covering environmental factors, materials, and handling to protect comic book history for the future. This is an interactive session—bring your questions, collecting stories, and debate your favorite eras. Free appraisal of 1 item included.
