Fourth- and fifth-grade students at Waverly Park Elementary School in the Lynbrook School District recently experienced what it is like to be part of a polar sea expedition, thanks to an Oceans Education Program collaboration between Catlin Group and Digital Explorer.
The partnership offers resources that educate students about global issues with the goal of inspiring environmental awareness among future generations.
Frozen oceans Scientist Jamie Dunlop-Buchanan led an assortment of activities, teaching the children how explorers survive the harsh temperatures and challenging conditions posed by the polar seas.
