Long Island sure is lucky this week! Three of the most handsome fellas are available for adoption in Wantagh, and I have the pleasure of introducing them to you.
First up, meet Henry! This handsome, young Redbone Coonhound was hit by a car on Christmas Eve near a Kentucky firehouse and suffered a crushed hock. While his rear leg needed to be amputated, he has thankfully found his way to Last Hope Animal Rescue and is now looking for someone wonderful who will help him realize his true pup potential. Everyone knows that 3 is a lucky number, so why not head down to Last Hope and meet Henry today!
You can also meet Gino at Last Hope. Poor Gino was left behind when his caretakers moved away. Thankfully, a kind neighbor helped him find his fresh start at Last Hope. Gino was home fostered while he waited for cage space, and that means he’s more than ready for his new forever home! Gino is described as a nice boy that purrs when petted and enjoys hanging out with his favorite people. Henry is estimated to have been born in November 2011.

And right next door at the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter is one of the coolest dogs with the coolest name- meet Dexter! Dexter is 3 years old, adorable, and is currently in foster care. Foster care is amazing for dogs like Dexter who are otherwise very stressed in a shelter, but display a calm, loving, and cuddly demeanor when in foster care. As a huge bonus, Dexter is house trained and loves to play. He can be shy of new people, so he is in need of correct intros. He is described as a great companion that is super deserving of a forever home. For more information about Dexter, don’t wait- head down to TOH today!
