Blaze Spreads To 2 Homes In Massapequa

The fire broke out on Monday afternoon.

MASSAPEQUA, NY - A fire spread to two homes in Massapequa on Monday afternoon.

Nassau Police confirmed they responded to a call of a fire on Biltmore Boulevard at 2:30 p.m.

According to the Massapequa Fire Department, the fire started in one home and spread to an abandoned house next door.

No one home at the time of the fire. It appears as though the fire began in the garage of the first home before spreading to the second floor and eventually the house next door.

Firefighters got the fire under control in about 35 minutes and completely knocked down in an hour in both houses.

Both homes were significant damaged in the blaze. A car in the garage was also destroyed.

The Massapequa Fire Department, Wantagh Fire Department and Seaford Fire Department all responded to extinguish the fire.

The fire marshals deemed the fire to be non-suspicious.
