Perhaps I am wrong, but that is not unusual.
However, I do remember that once upon a time, and not so very long ago, I, too, loved gala parties, and costumes and fairytales,
That ended abruptly when a hitherto unknown virus, called Covid 19, landed unexpectedly in our complacent world

The unanticipated arrival changed our lives in more ways than perhaps we have yet totally acknowledged.
One is a new lack of interest in celebrities and hopefully, the departure of voyeurism.

I doubt if many fellow citizens are interested in either the unique culture of celebrities (if that word is applicable) or their infantile craving for attention.
Their constant flaunting of a state of undress has become a total bore as well as uninteresting.
Meanwhile the average American family is becoming increasingly frantic with concern about the price of groceries. Citizens notice the empty shelves in their favorite grocery markets increase week by week. Many now wonder about potential shortages.
Our norm, our world, our “Friday nights out” were shattered as countless neighborhood restaurants and stores closed due to the lack of help.
A majority of “Favorite Eating Spots,” throughout our country now open only for either dinner or lunch. Many have or will soon go bankrupt.

Once upon a time (and granted it was not so very long ago) their childish antics provoked a smile on a cloudy morning,
Perhaps the so called “Beautiful People” weren’t watching, but that ended abruptly when America’s world changed from complacency to concern.
Today when many of us religiously don a mask to prevent another episode of Covid, is there anyone who finds a woman decked out head to foot in leather amusing?

Perhaps I should feel sympathy for her lack of gravitas or empathy, but rather,I find it childishly annoying.
I resent it when the senseless cavorting flashes across my Ipad or Macbook Air as well as Direct TV.
The average level of anxiety in our country has escalated since the advent of Covid 19.
During this ongoing battle with the virus and its cousins, Delta and Wu , the health and wellbeing of our loved ones is now our priority.
A majority of Americans are also focused with increasing unease on the current turbulent economic, and political scene..
So I wish those who dressed and dined at the Met Ball would grow up and join rest of the nation and stop admiring themselves in a mirror.
Their reflection is a mere camouflage for reality.
