“Thousands of people are still seeking food and temporary shelter as Hurricane Harvey delivered unprecedented amounts of rain in Texas,” Saladino said. “I thank the countless number of residents who generously donated items to assist fellow Americans in need. Together, we are helping make a difference in the lives of those who desperately need it and will continue to be at the ready to help communities in the days, weeks and months ahead.”
Essential items, such as food, water and cleaning supplies were donated by residents and will be delivered to Long Island’s largest hunger relief organization, Island Harvest, to support the ongoing relief efforts for the victims of Hurricane Harvey.
