LI Weekend Weather: 50/50 Chance Of Rain Could Dampen Plans

Forecasts say it may rain on Sunday. Or it may not, according to the National Weather Service.

LONG ISLAND, NY — Rain may dampen activities Long Islanders have planned for this weekend. Or it might not. Forecasts say it could go either way.

According to the National Weather Service, Saturday will be partly cloudy and mild temperatures, with a high around 77. But there's a 50/50 shot of rain on Sunday. There could also be thunderstorms Sunday night.

There's also a small chance the rain could carry over to Monday morning, but it would clear out by the mid-afternoon. The clear weather is predicted to stick around for most of the week.
