Massapequa Cub Scouts Become Boy Scouts
Massapequa Cub Scout Pack 696 celebrated their most senior scouts, Webelos II, crossing over to join Boy Scout Troops 660 & 5.
Massapequa Cub Scout Pack 696 celebrated their most senior scouts, Webelos II, crossing over to join Boy Scout Troops 660 & 5.
This evening ceremony, also known as Blue & Gold, begins with retirement of their Cub Scout den flag, followed by the “Arrow of Light” ceremony and concludes by the boys crossing over to the Boy Scout troop of their choosing. The Arrow of Light is the highest award that can be earned in Cub Scouts. It is one of only two awards that can be worn on the Boy Scout uniform. Once the Cub Scouts walk over the wooden bridge to joint the Boy Scout Troop of choice, they are instantly given an new hat, scout manual and neckerchief by an older Boy Scout as a sign of being welcomed into that troop.
Congratulations to the following boys on their accomplishments: Mark Barbarello, Harry Cole, John Dibbins, Christopher Fitzpatrick, Angelo Foto, Charles Hart, Jack Heckman, Thomas Malone, Antonia Materia, William Martinez, Andrew Mentesana, Matthew Rossi, and Jonathan Yahner.
