Police ID Remains Found At Massapequa Preserve
Police say the remains belong to a teenager who was a victim of MS-13.
Nassau County police have identified the remains of a body that was found buried in the Massapequa Preserve on May 24.
Police say the remains of Bryan Steven Cho Lemus, 18, of Uniondale, were recovered in the park. Police believed he was a victim of MS-13 violence.
According to Nassau County Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder, detectives investigated in the preserve multiple times. In 2017, officers found the body of 19-year-old Julio Cesar Gonzales-Espantzay buried in the preserve. While investigating his death, police say they found information indicating that a second body was buried in the preserve.

Detectives returned to the area multiple times over the last two years trying to find any sign of the body. Officers finally found on May 24, about 150 feet feet from where Gonzales-Espantzay was buried.
At a press conference last week, police said that Lemus was likely murdered in the preserve, and that they know who was most likely behind the murder.
