Police: Teen Falsely Reported Man With Rifle in Massapequa
East Meadow teen charged Tuesday night, cops said.

An East Meadow teen lied and told police there was a man with a rifle walking around a Massapequa park Tuesday, according to Nassau County Police.
At 7:41 p.m., Andrew Denton, 17, called 911 and told dispatchers there was a man with a rifle walking the trails of Brady Park, police said.
Multiple officers, including Special Operations and Air Bureau, searched the area for 45 minutes but found no one, cops said.

Denton was arrested at his home at 9:15 p.m. after he was identified as the caller, police said. Cops discovered a gravity knife in his possession.
Denton was charged with third-degree falsely reporting an incident and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He will be arraigned Wednesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
