Police: Woman Arrested For Massapequa Walmart Theft Assaulted Emergency Responder

Incident occurred Friday night, police say.

A Suffolk County woman arrested for stealing from the Massapequa Walmart on Friday later assaulted an emergency responder when she began to feel ill, police say.

According to police, Kimberly Trinidad, 28, of Bay Shore, was charged with petty larceny following the alleged theft at the Sunrise Mall Walmart.

While being transported to detention, Trinidad began to feel ill, police said. A Nassau County Ambulance responded to the transporting officer’s location on Hempstead Turnpike in East Meadow and Trinidad was transferred into the ambulance, police said.

While in the ambulance, Trinidad became combative and kicked the male advanced medical technician in the face, police said.

The assisting officers were able to secure Trinidad and transport her to Nassau University Medical Center for treatment of an unknown medical condition, police said.

The AMT was also treated for minor injury to his face, police said.

In addition to petty larceny, Trinidad is also charged with second degree assault. She will be arraigned on Saturday, at First District Court in Hempstead.
