Man Shot in the Mouth During Attempted Robbery in Roosevelt
Incident happened Monday night, police said.

A man was shot in the mouth during an attempted robbery Monday night in Roosevelt, according to Nassau County Police.
At 9 p.m., the 29-year-old victim was approached by two men on bicycles on N. Long Beach Avenue who tried to rob him, cops said.
A struggle ensued before one of the men pulled out a gun and shot the victim in the mouth, police said. The pair fled west on Debevoise Avenue on foot.

The victim ran around the corner and collapsed in front of Centennial Avenue Elementary School, police said. Emergency crews rushed him to a nearby hospital where he is now listed in stable condition, cops said.
Detectives are asking anyone with information about the incident to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
