3 Arrested After Bad Drug Deal

Police said there were children in the car while the drug deal was happening.

EAST FISHKILL, NY — Three Dutchess residents were accused of being involved in an illegal drug transaction. State police said Village of Fishkill police and troopers responded to Route 9 around 2 p.m. March 9 for a report of hit-and-run collision involving a pedestrian with two vehicles chasing after one another.

The people involved were located by police on Carol Lane in the Town of Fishkill.

An investigation found John Paul J. Weber, 28, of Poughkeepsie, and Tammy M. Ferris, 34, of Poughkeepsie, with two children as passengers, met Mario Samayoa, 27, of East Fishkill, to purchase marijuana and sell suboxone.

Before the exchange could be made, police said Weber sped off in his car with Samayoa hanging onto the vehicle in order to steal the drugs.

Samayoa returned to his car, which was being driven by Sheriann R. Glantz, 24, of Pleasant Valley, and began to chase after Weber's vehicle.

Police said Samayoa had about 3.5 grams of suboxone sublingual films and 1.5 grams of heroin, and Weber had 2 boxes of suboxone.

Ferris tried to conceal the stolen marijuana as the police arrived in an attempt to hinder the investigation, police said.

About 100 grams of marijuana were recovered from the scene, police said.

All four people were arrested. Glantz was issued a uniform traffic ticket for reckless driving.

Weber was charged with third-degree robbery, fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and leaving the scene of an injury auto accident, all felonies, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, fourth-degree criminal possession of marijuana and reckless driving, misdemeanors.

Ferris was charged with tampering with physical evidence, a felony, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and fourth-degree criminal possession of marijuana, misdemeanors.

Samayoa was charged with third-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a felony, and two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.

Weber, Ferris and Samayoa were arraigned in the Town of East Fishkill Court.

Weber was sent to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $7,500 bail of $15,000 bond. Samayoa was sent to jail in lieu of $2,500 bail or $5,000 bond.

Ferris was released under the supervision of the Dutchess County Probation Department.

Both Weber and Samayoa were scheduled to appear in court March 13. Ferris is scheduled to appear March 28 and was also issued an appearance ticket for tampering with physical evidence returnable to the Town of Fishkill Court March 20.
