From Below To Above: Poughkeepsie's Work Week Weather

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — We kick off the month of May in the Hudson Valley with daytime temps in the 40s and 50s. And with a blustery wind and some rain, it'll feel even colder.

"That kind of chill is WELL below average, nearly 15° to 20° below average!" said the guys at Hudson Valley Weather.

But by mid-week, temps will jump into the 80s across the region. For this time of year, highs are normally in the low 70s.

"Temperatures are likely to remain above average during Thursday and Friday, even with the advent of clouds and showers," said AccuWeather Long-Range Meteorologist Max Vido.

Here's the National Weather Service forecast for mid-Hudson Valley:

• Today: Scattered showers, mainly before 5pm. Cloudy, with a high near 52. Northwest wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
• Tonight: A slight chance of showers before 3am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 38. Northwest wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
• Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 76. Calm wind becoming west 5 to 9 mph in the morning.
• Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 52. Southwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.
• Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 83. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph.
• Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 60.
• Thursday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 84. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
