Ulster County Fire/rescue on Facebook said that currently 911 and emergency responders around the county are facing a larger than normal call volume with trees down, wires down and other weather-related emergencies.
"We feel this is a good time to remind everybody not to call their local emergency services or 911 unless they have an emergency. Do not ask about power restoration or how roads are. We can confirm that all highway personnel are out, and every resource possible is at work at this time," they said.
