Boy, 13, Killed In Fall From Hell's Kitchen Building

HELL'S KITCHEN, NY — A 13-year-old boy died Monday after falling 20 stories from a Hell's Kitchen apartment building, police said.

Police responded at 6 a.m. to a report that the boy had been found unconscious on the street near 400 West 43rd St., part of the Manhattan Plaza housing complex. He had injuries consistent with a fall from an elevated position, a police spokesperson said.

Paramedics pronounced the boy dead at the scene.

Police are investigating whether the fall was accidental or deliberate. The New York Post reported that the boy had been doing his homework on the building's terrace shortly before the fall.
