Port Jefferson Station Woman Critically Injured in Wrong-Way Crash
Crash occurred in Centereach Monday morning, police say.

A Port Jefferson Station woman is in critical condition following a two-car crash in Centereach Monday morning, police said.
According to police, 70-year-old Jennie Giordano was driving a 2000 Nissan Maxima south on Mark Tree Road, south of Nesconset Highway, when a northbound 2014 Infinity Q50 crossed into the southbound lanes of Mark Tree Road and struck the Nissan at about 8:50 a.m.
Giordano was transported by Setauket Fire Department Rescue to Stony Brook University Hospital, where she was listed in critical condition, police said.

The driver of the Infinity, 33-year-old Elizabeth Basta, of Deer Park, was treated at Stony Brook for non-life threatening injuries.
Both cars were impounded for safety checks and the investigation is continuing. No criminal charges have been filed.
