• Police respond to Mineola Middle School for suspicious incident (news12.com) — Mineola families are being reassured after Nassau County police investigated a disturbing written message at Mineola Middle School this week and found no evidence of intent to harm. The student who wrote the note was removed from class, added safety measures were put in place, and district leaders say they'll review and strengthen their response procedures after acknowledging police should have been notified sooner.
