Stabbing Death Charge Upped To Murder
A Mount Vernon man initially charged with manslaughter has additionally been indicted for murder.
MOUNT VERNON, NY — A Mount Vernon 40-year-old has been indicted for the March murder of a man he knew. Richard P. Vincent now faces a murder charge in the stabbing death of Randy Streete, Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino, Jr. announced.
Westchester County Court Judge David Zuckerman presided as Vernon was arraigned on an indictment from a Westchester County Grand Jury for:
- Murder in the Second Degree, a class A felony
- Manslaughter in the First Degree, a class B felony
Prosecutors said a friend found Randy Streete dead in a pool of blood in his basement apartment on South Sixth Avenue in Mount Vernon on March 13. The autopsy confirmed Streete died from an incised knife wound to the neck.

The indictment alleges he was killed sometime between March 12 and March 13.
Vincent and Streete were previously acquainted, and prosecutors said Vincent had visited with Streete at his home March 12.

Vincent, 40, was arrested the next week and charged with manslaughter.
Assistant District Attorneys Laura Murphy, Chief of the Career Criminal Bureau, and Kerrie Williams, Deputy Chief of the Sex Crimes Bureau, are prosecuting the case.
