Spring Is Really Here: Twist & Shake Opens for Season Today

Family-owned ice cream stand gets set for warm weather.

If you need a sign that spring is really here and warm weather is on the way, check out Main Street in New City at 6 p.m. — that's when Twist & Shake opens its windows again for business.

Jennifer and John Hanlon say they're ready for the new season and are eager to greet their friends and neighbors who have been coming to their ice cream stand at 243 S. Main St. over the 10 years they've been in business.

Originally built in 1958 as a Dairy Queen, Twist & Shake is a well-known family gathering place. The stand sells hard and soft ice cream, frozen yogurt and Italian ices and more.
