New Hyde Park-Garden City Park School Budget Passes, Board Members Elected
Voters have decided on a proposed 2015-16 budget.

New Hyde Park-Garden City Park residents approved the school district’s $36.8 million proposed budget on Tuesday by a margin of 750-352, Newsday reports.
The budget includes a 1.99 percent increase in spending over the current year and carries a .90 percent tax levy increase, which is within the state’s tax cap.
Three school board candidates were elected. David Del Santo (750 votes) and James Reddan (732 votes) ran unopposed and were elected. Jennifer DeRocchis was also elected with 548 votes, according to Newsday.
