Impersonating A Federal Officer Arrest After New Rochelle Traffic Stop
The 48-year-old was charged with criminal impersonation, criminal possession of a weapon and possession of stolen property.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — A man who tried to convince police he was a federal law enforcement agent had fake badges and a stolen gun on him when he was arrested, according to the NRPD.
On Thursday, New Rochelle PD detectives pulled a car over and ultimately arrested the driver for impersonating a federal agent and weapons possession. Detectives already had an open investigation on a person who was believed to have been in possession of a handgun and who had been accused of making comments that he was a federal law enforcement officer.
At about 1:15 p.m., detectives spotted the suspect driving and pulled him over. During the traffic stop, the suspect identified himself as a federal agent, according to detectives. Police soon discovered that Manrique Perez of New Rochelle was in possession of a stolen handgun and federal law enforcement badges.
