New Rochelle Gets $1M Grant To Rehab Armory

The grant comes from the state's Restore New York Communities Initiative.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The City of New Rochelle will receive a $1 million grant that will be used to rehabilitate the New Rochelle Armory. The grant comes from New York State as part of its Restore New York Communities Initiative, Gov. Mario Cuomo announced in March.

The rehab of the Armory is part of New Rochelle’s Echo Bay Waterfront Redevelopment plan.

“The city aims to restore the Armory in the context of our larger Echo Bay redevelopment, and this new funding from the state provides an important boost, said New Rochelle Mayor Noam Bramson.
