Westchester Grand Jury Indicts 19-Year-Old In Shooting Of 15-Year-Old
The Yonkers teen is facing a slew of felony charges, including attempted murder in connection with the Oct. 22, shooting.
WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY — A 19-year-old was indicted on charges connected with the October shooting of a 15-year-old in Yonkers, Westchester County District Attorney Miriam Rocah announced today.
Yonkers resident Joseph Tejera is being held without bail.
Tejera was arraigned in Westchester County Court on Tuesday and indicted by a Westchester County grand jury for attempted murder in the second degree, assault in the first degree, assault in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon.

Prosecutors contend that on October 26, shortly before 10:30 p.m., on Woodworth Avenue in Yonkers, Tejera fired three shots at his victim, striking him two times. The 15-year-old victim was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx, where he underwent emergency treatment.

The Yonkers Police Department arrested Tejera in the Bronx on November 2.
The case is being prosecuted by the Violence Criminal Enterprise Bureau of the Trials and Investigations Division.
