Greenport High School Student Named Rotary Student of The Month
The senior is a member of the football, basketball and baseball teams.

Greenport High School senior Willie Riggins was recognized as the December Rotary Student of the Month.
Riggins has been the Captain of the Varsity Football team for both his junior and senior years . He is also a member of the Varsity Basketball and Varsity Baseball teams.
“Willie’s leadership, impeccable character, resiliency, and empathy for others have truly made him an outstanding representative of our senior class,” a post on the Greenport Union Free School District website reads.

According to the Greenport Union Free School District website, he is an outstanding leader who serves as a role model for others and his work ethic is an inspiration to others.
‘His experiences at Greenport and in the summer jobs over the last four years have taught him that you have to work hard if you want to be successful,” the website reads. ”His reaction to the number of injuries that resulted in the end of the season caused him to be reflective about all the good times that he had experienced.”

Riggins plans on majoring in sports marketing in college.
